Murraylands Food Alliance

The Murraylands Food Alliance (MFA) is a collective of eleven of the sub-region’s biggest food producers, processors and manufacturers, who together contribute $1.1 billion a year – more than 48% of the gross regional product for the Murraylands – to the South Australian economy.

What is the Murraylands Food Alliance?

Alliance members collaborate to develop strategies and initiatives which increase productivity and competitiveness of the Murraylands food industry. In 2014, RDAMR brought the member organisations together to discuss shared issues and opportunities, and the Alliance has gone from strength to strength since. RDAMR facilitates their efforts by providing executive support to quarterly meetings, and securing funding for and delivering the initiatives they identify.

One such initiative is a collaborative online marketing platform, Thomas Farms Kitchen, which allows consumers to select meals from a weekly menu inspired by and featuring South Australia’s finest produce. The recipes and pre-portioned ingredients are then packed and delivered to the consumer’s door, along with marketing of each business’ produce.
