Experts in Residence provides access to free, confidential and one-on-one appointments with industry experts for Murraylands and Riverland businesses involved in the food, beverage and agribusiness sector.
The 2020/2021/2022 Program
Following the success of the 2018 Experts in Residence program it has now been expanded for the next 3 years across the Murraylands and Riverland with the partnership of Primary Industries and Regions South Australia.
We have assembled a team of experts within 6 key themes from across the country to provide free practical advice to primary producers and food and beverage manufacturers, to determine how they can implement value adding practices to be a more viable and resilient enterprise.
Six Key Themes
A new program model
A new model of the program is being implemented where we are shifting to one expert in region per month from March to August each year – a total of 18 experts over 3 years!
The Experts in Residence program will provide confidential one-to-one appointments which can be booked with highly experienced professionals.
The program provides the opportunity to book a follow up appointment with the Expert conducted via phone, Skype or email so you can continue to leverage this opportunity.

Experts in Residence is delivered by RDAMR in partnership with Primary Industries and Regions South Australia (PIRSA).
The Pilot and 2018 Programs
The pilot program was held at the newly redeveloped Loxton Research Centre in late 2017, to help activate that regional hub of industry innovation.
The program attracted a wide range of growers, producers and processors who were keen to gain insight and information on the latest trends and developments on value-adding practices like cold-storage, packaging technology, food technology, soil management, supply chain, logistics, food safety, value chain growth, emerging markets, and exporting.
With a focus on increasing gross production value from the same farm footprint, experts provided advice on opportunities that best fit the business’ crop types, products, resources, and markets.
