Guiding Principles and Priorities

The RDAMR Strategic Direction 2023+ focuses on:

  • Strengthening collaboration between industries, investors, and government.
  • Driving growth in established and emerging sectors such as food production, tourism, manufacturing, energy, and technology.
  • Encouraging sustainable practices and circular economy principles.
  • Supporting workforce development, leadership, and regional capacity-building.

Through initiatives such as the Regional Leadership Development Program, Community Impact Program, Transform Food Waste, and the Investment Pipeline, RDAMR is ensuring that regional businesses and communities are well-equipped for the future.

Shaping the Future Together

The strategy is a product of extensive community consultation, capturing the perspectives of over 550 regional stakeholders. It is designed to align emerging industry trends with local aspirations, ensuring a sustainable and prosperous future for the Murraylands & Riverland region.

The launch event commenced with a Welcome to Country by Ngrakani (Harley Hall), followed by remarks from Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories, Kristy McBain, and South Australian Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development, Clare Scriven MLC. Both ministers emphasised RDAMR’s role in driving investment and innovation.

A Collaborative Pathway Forward

RDAMR continues to foster strong partnerships with Federal, State, and Local Governments, as well as private and philanthropic investors, to maximise opportunities for the region.

Regional Development South Australia Chair Rob Kerin commended the strategy’s forward-thinking approach, stating, “This vision provides a solid foundation for future success, strengthening local industries while embracing global opportunities.”
